After a period of doubting her faith, Sophie encountered God’s presence in a powerful way at KYCK 22. Now, after six KYCKs, she describes the conference in one word: belonging.

1. Please introduce yourself!

Hi! I’m Sophie and I’m from BASIC (Brothers And Sisters In Christ) YG. I’ve been to KYCK 6 times since 2021! KYCK26 was unfortunately my last KYCK as a youth.

2. Tell us a bit about faith background.

I grew up in a Christian household where my mum was a Christian and my dad wasn’t. Because my dad wasn’t a Christian, I ended up doubting my own faith in God multiple times but at KYCK 22, I really felt God’s presence for the first time. I fully understood the joy in following Jesus and how He has fully planned out my life. Ever since, I have been trying to live a life for Jesus, attempting to boldly share the undeserving love that He has for all of us.

3. What’s the main takeaway for you from KYCK 26?

My main takeaway from KYCK 26 is that Jesus has come to seek and save us, the lost. We can never run from God because God will always bring us back! We do not have to worry as our path has been planned out, that nothing in life is random. We need to live like Jesus, setting an example for non believers as we should act as a reflection of Christ!

We can never run from God because God will always bring us back!

4.  If someone’s never been to KYCK, what would you say to them?

I’d fully encourage them to go, as you never know how KYCK might change your life! KYCK was my favourite weekend every year, and it really is a game-changer weekend.

5. How has KYCK encouraged your faith?

KYCK has encouraged my faith as it has reminded me that I am so loved. No matter how far I run, God is always a step ahead, and that we cannot hide from Him.

KYCK has also encouraged my faith as it has reminded me that I am not alone, and seeing so many other teens just like me praising and worshipping God is just a small glimpse of how amazing heaven is going to be!

6. Describe KYCK in one word.

BELONGING!

KYCK is a place where I feel like I belong, just all one in Christ Jesus!
