For Neika, faith wasn’t something she grew up with. After high school, she decided to tag along with a friend to church and that small step opened the door to meeting Jesus! At SPARK, Neika found encouragement in worship, friendship, and the bold reminder to live each day for Christ.

1. Please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your faith journey.

Hi my name is Neika, I’m 20, and I attend St Matthew’s Anglican Church in Wanniassa, Canberra.

I grew up in a non-Christian family, only attending church at Christmas! My faith journey, like many others, is a long story—but it began to develop after high school. After leaving school, I struggled with the uncertainty of what the future held.

While I was struggling, I began searching—searching for anything that could help me. Along the way, I remembered I had a friend who attended church. I asked if I could come with her one time, and of course, she said yes! That was just the start of my faith journey and meeting Jesus. Praise God!

2. What made you want to attend Spark?
I met some beautiful people at KEC (Katoomba Easter Convention) earlier in the year from across Australia. We thought SPARK would be an amazing opportunity to catch up again.

3. Describe your Spark experience! What was a highlight for you?
SPARK was amazing! Seeing so many young people in one space praising God was such an encouragement. Worship was a highlight—what a blessing it was to sing and glorify His name.

4. One main takeaway from the weekend?
Boldness is about doing what God empowers you to do!

5. How have you been living differently after Spark?
SPARK encouraged me to be bold in my faith and to consider what it means to live a holy life each day.
