2,200+ Women Encouraged to ‘Live Unhindered’ at OneLove 2025
Over 2,000 women joined us in-person, with almost 250 tuning in online, representing every state across Australia. The theme of this year’s OneLove was “Unhindered”, reminding women to live each day following Christ with faith and purpose. It was a call to throw off every hindrance, run with perseverance, and fix our eyes on Jesus.
MBM Music lifted the room with heartfelt worship, leading the women to praise God with one voice. Listen to the Spotify 25 playlist here!
From Prayer to Praise
In Session 1, Jackie Hill Perry explored 1 Samuel 1, focusing on the prayers of Hannah. She encouraged women to understand the unchanging character of God even in seasons of suffering. Jackie called attendees to remember God’s faithfulness no matter their feelings and to trust His power over time, even when all they feel they can do is wait. Watch a snippet below.
Hope from a Psalm
In Session 2, Jackie put hope on trial. She encouraged reflection on times when hope feels like it has let us down and guided women on how to keep trusting God even when outcomes don’t meet expectations. Jackie reminded attendees not to let human disappointments affect their hope in God. How will you remember God’s past faithfulness to guide your future?
“There was so much to be encouraged by! The depth and clarity of Jackie’s preaching, while really focusing on a female perspective and issues, was extremely edifying. I also loved spending more time with my Church group and singing together with so many females (in a great key as well!)” – Hannah
“I have been going with a friend every year now and it’s such a lovely tradition that we share to be able to grow and encourage each other. I love being able to gather and worship with so many women from different walks of life.” – Belinda
“Honestly, I hate women’s events. But OneLove was organised in such a way that there was no room to not enjoy it. Jackie Hill Perry PREACHED with such conviction and rawness and desire for God’s glory – it was electric.” – Eliza
“I found it such a refreshment to sing with 2,000 sisters, to learn from powerful women and to be reminded of my great God and the hope we have.” – Maree
In the Q&A session, women asked Jackie some big and personal questions, including:
Is it bad or am I selfish if I’m confused that God wants us to suffer, that we might praise Him?
What are some practical ideas or ways that we can cultivate a big view of God’s glory and fix our eyes on His worthiness?
Should we only hope in God? What does it look like to hope for other things? For example, for children, for success at work?
How do you discern a relationship that is a hindrance versus a help?
How do you deal with lust as a single woman?
How do we continue to hope in the Lord when we grow old and our memory fades?
How do we have hope for those who do not yet know Christ?
Can you draw out for us a hindrance that you’ve wrestled with? Watch a snippet of Jackie’s answer to this question below.
Rachel Ciano on Catherine Booth
Rachel Ciano explored the work of God in the life of Catherine Booth and encouraged women to reflect on their own limitations. In a time when it was hard to be a woman, Catherine stood up for those who needed support. Attendees were challenged to know their vulnerable selves as loved by God and to continue pressing on, confident that God does great work through those who embrace their weaknesses.
Valerie Ling on Radical Acceptance
Clinical Psychologist, Valerie Ling shared about experiencing hindrances and limitations as believers. She taught on radical acceptance, letting go of struggles over why things happen, how they happen, and the stress of making it all work, by giving these worries to God. Valerie highlighted real-life examples of women from different walks of life, offering practical advice and encouragement.

International speaker Zack Eswine and local speaker Peter Sondergeld unpacked what it means to grow in true wisdom, drawing from the book of Proverbs and the life of Jesus.
Across the talks, men were reminded that:
Meekness is not weakness – it is the strength of God’s power under control.
Friendship with Jesus changes everything – shaping how we relate to Him and to others.
Wisdom protects – guarding us from the traps of being naive or foolish.
The call was clear: wisdom begins with knowing and following Jesus, the One who loves us deeply and leads us in steadfast love.
Walking Away Changed
Men left BASECAMP encouraged to meditate on God’s unchanging love, to pursue friendships marked by grace and truth, and to walk humbly with Christ in every area of life.
“Attending the Basecamp Men’s Conference was a real blessing for me. It was a refreshing time away to pause, reflect, and be challenged as we dug into the topic of wisdom from God’s Word. Hearing from faithful speakers, sharing honest conversations with other men, and spending time in prayer together helped me see areas in my life where I can grow in humility, godliness, and decision-making… I left feeling inspired and challenged in my walk with Jesus.” – Sebastian, BASECAMP 25 Mountains Attendee
“Thank you so much for all the hard work and prayerful way you serve God’s people with this conference! What an amazing blessing over so many years. Wisdom was an excellent an appropriate and useful topic and the speakers perched from the heart: very moving and encouraging. I thank God for you!”

5 Unhindered Women of the Bible
The Bible is filled with women who could have said no. These women could have stayed in their shame, fear, or comfort zones, but instead showed remarkable courage. Here’s a look at 5 women who lived unhindered in their response to Jesus.
1. The Woman at the Well
John 4
She came to draw water but left carrying living water.
Unhindered by her shameful past, she boldly shared Jesus with her town. Jackie Hill Perry preached on this in 2023. Watch a snippet below or watch the full video on KCC One!
2. The Woman Who Walked Away from Safety
Ruth
Ruth wasn’t obligated to follow Naomi into a foreign land, but she did. She wasn’t hindered by loss, uncertainty, or leaving behind the familiar. Her faith and loyalty positioned her in God’s redemptive story!
3. The Woman Who Prayed Through Her Pain
Hannah (1 Samuel)
Though her heart was heavy with grief and unanswered prayer, she came to the temple and poured out her soul to God. She wasn’t hindered by disappointment, delay, or being misunderstood by others. She was seen and heard by God and her faith bore fruit through her son, Samuel!
4. The Woman Who Chose Better
Mary of Bethany (Luke 10:38–42)
While her sister Martha was busy with preparations, Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened. Mary wasn’t hindered by expectations, distractions, or the pull to do more. Mary chose what was better and Jesus didn’t push her away.
5. The Woman Who Worshipped
Luke 7:36–50
She wasn’t invited but she came anyway. In a room full of judgment, she poured perfume and tears at Jesus’ feet. It was an act of costly devotion. She wasn’t hindered by her reputation, onlookers, or the weight of her past. Jesus affirmed her faith and forgave her sin.
Let these stories remind you that you don’t need a perfect past or the right credentials to come to Jesus.
Living unhindered is about having confidence in the God who sees, calls and uses ordinary people like you and me.
What does it look like to run the race of faith unhindered?
Join us at OneLove 2025 as we uncover what it means to live free from the distractions, doubts and sins that weigh us down.

5 Tips for Hosting OneLove from Home
You don’t have to be in a big city to experience OneLove. Whether you’re in the bush, by the coast, or a rural town in the middle of nowhere, you can still gather with women in your community and be refreshed by God’s Word. Hosting a OneLove watch party in your home or church is possible and easier than you think!
Here are 5 tips to help you host OneLove from home (or anywhere):
1. Invite the ladies!
Invite your Bible study, church friends, neighbours, or that friend who’s been meaning to come to something. Whether it’s one friend or twenty, sharing the day together can spark deep conversation and shared encouragement.
Let’s be honest, food makes everything better. Set up a grazing board, do it potluck-style, or even order-in lunch for low-effort hosting!
3. Set the tone
Whether it’s your lounge room, church hall, choose a space that’s comfortable and big enough for your group. A big-enough screen and a space for cups of tea and heartfelt chats. Create a space that helps you be present. Have your Bible ready, light a candle, turn off your phone, and bring out the comfiest blankets you own!
4. Pause & reflect throughout the day
Don’t skip the chats! Allow space between sessions for quiet reflection, journaling, or a chat. Here are a few questions you can use to aid your reflection:
1. What is currently hindering my relationship with Jesus?
2. In what areas of my life do I need to trust God more fully?
3. Who in my life can I encourage or walk alongside intheir faith?
4. What did I hear today that stirred my heart or convicted me?
5. How can I practically put these things into practice in my day-to-day life?
5. Keep the conversations going

“The Saturday That Changed Everything”: Reuben’s KYCK Story
For Reuben, KYCK is where his faith became real. Two years ago, he publicly committed his life to Jesus, deciding to follow Him no matter what. Now, as he prepares for his third KYCK, Reuben reflects on how that moment changed everything—the way he sees himself, his struggles, and the unshakable love of God that continues to sustain him.
1. Introduce yourself!
My name is Reuben Seabrook. I go to Dundas Telopea Anglican (Insight youth) and I’m in Year 9.
2. How many KYCKs have you attended?
I’ve been attending KYCK for 2 years now (this is my 3rd) and I love worshiping the Lord with heaps of other youth and leaders. The talks and sermons are really helpful and overall, the vibes are just amazing.
3. Favourite memory from KYCK?
My favourite memory is probably during KYCK 23, I was in Year 7. I grew up in the church but never understood fully what it meant to follow God. At KYCK, I committed my life to Jesus publicly and wanted to stick with Him no matter what. That Saturday is when it all really started for me.
At KYCK, I committed my life to Jesus publicly and wanted to stick with Him no matter what. That Saturday is when it all really started for me.
4. How did KYCK encourage your faith?
It encouraged me in my faith by showing me how real my struggles were for other youth as well. So much of the time I would be ashamed and anxious of what God and others would think of me because of my sin but knowing that others have gone through the same thing and that we’re united through Jesus’ death and resurrection on the cross is a wonderful and comforting truth.
5. Why would you recommend KYCK to others?
I would 100/10 recommend KYCK to any youth that haven’t attended before. It’s a short 3-day experience with your youth group to explore God’s word, understand Jesus more, and have a great time singing and worshiping together. The bracelets and new traditions add a special feel to KYCK that no other event has. Hope to see you guys there!!
6. How has being a Christian changed your life?
My life has been filled with ups and down. I’ve struggled with many different issues like mental health. At some points, I even considered abandoning my faith. It was really hard for me to navigate my faith during such a chaotic period of my life, but Jesus saved me from the depths of suffering I was in and loved me when I couldn’t love myself. The truth of our Saviour never changes. And while life is still a bit bumpy now, I can say I’m secure in God’s love.
Being a Christian has changed my life because it reshapes the way I think of myself, the world and others. Through prayer and the Bible I feel at peace in God and I love telling others about the truth that saved me from death.
Being a Christian has changed my life because it reshapes the way I think of myself, the world and others. Through prayer and the Bible I feel at peace in God and I love telling others about the truth that saved me from death. I want others to experience His amazing never-ending love that surpasses any sins we can commit.
For Mini, KYCK isn’t just an event—it’s been a defining part of her faith journey. From first tuning in via livestream to making a life-changing decision at KYCK22, KYCK has helped her grow in her love for Jesus and deepen friendships along the way.
In this story, Amos reflects on the moments that have shaped his journey, from powerful worship sessions to life-changing conversations, and shares why KYCK holds such a special place in his heart.
Amidst some devastating losses, KYCK became the turning point for Sebastian that reignited his faith. From the talks that revealed God’s purpose for him to the uplifting atmosphere of collective worship, his story shows how God works through life’s hardest moments to draw us back.
For Riley, KYCK started as just a fun weekend away, but it quickly became something much more. Now, as she prepares for her final KYCK as a high school student, Riley reflects on how this conference has shaped her faith, the impact of its community, and her desire to show the love of Jesus to others.
For Noah, attending KYCK for the first-time last year was a life-changing experience. What began as doubt turned into a complete renewal of faith, transforming his view of the Bible and gave him hope and purpose.
In this story, we hear from Pollyanna and how KYCK has strengthened her relationship with God and reminded her of His unshakable presence through the ups and downs of high school life.
KYCK has been a cornerstone of Estelle’s spiritual journey for the past five years. In this story, she reflects on the highlights from KYCK24, what impacted them most, and why they believe KYCK is something that every young Christian should experience.
In this story, we hear from Reuben as he reflects on his journey with KYCK—from his first experience as a high school student to their current role as a leader and volunteer. Reuben’s story reminds us of the power of God’s Word, the strength found in Christian community, and the hope we have in Jesus.

‘Strengthened in My Love for God’’: Eleisha’s OneLove Journey
Eleisha is a mum of three teenagers and she’s attended OneLove for the past two years! She calls it the highlight of her year, and shares why it’s important to step away from the busyness of life and refocus on Jesus with sisters in Christ.
1. Please introduce yourself and how many times you’ve attended OneLove!
My name is Eleisha, I attend Horizon Church Canberra. During the day, I look after the operations of a large Christian School—which I love! I’m the mum to three teenage boys, so I spend the rest of my time Uber-driving my children around to their various sports, music and school activities.
I’ve attended OneLove the last two years and it’s a highlight of my year!
2. Are you attending OneLove this year? What are you looking forward to the most?
I’m definitely attending OneLove this year! I love getting together with many of the women from my church, to meet with so many of my sisters in Christ, to draw away from the craziness of normal life, to lift our eyes and set our minds on Jesus together!
3. What was a highlight or moment from OneLove that really stuck with you?
A real highlight for me was hearing the stories of other women and how God has been working in their life. I was particularly encouraged hearing Yunita’s story last year and her journey of loving and caring for her son with a range of additional needs.
She reminded us of God’s sovereignty and his control of our situations. Even when things feel too much, we can trust in the God who cares deeply about us and he will provide—even in ways we might not expect, for His glory. God’s grace is at work in our stories and we can find joy in Him.
Even when things feel too much, we can trust in the God who cares deeply about us and he will provide—even in ways we might not expect, for His glory.
4. Was there a particular talk or speaker that encouraged or challenged you? How so?
One of Jackie Hill Perry’s talks (2023) was on Genesis 16:1-15. At one point in her talk, she spoke about Hagar. She described Hagar’s situation, her pain— too much for her to hold, flees to the wilderness.
God seeks out Hagar. God sees Hagar. He names her. He invites her into conversation. It shows how God desires to engage with us, even in suffering.
Our vision of God and who He is can be influenced by our suffering. At the time, I had recently had to leave an abusive relationship with my three boys. After many years of abuse, I was so broken. My pain was a tool that I was using to understand who God was. I was struggling with doubt. I remember really grappling with how a good God could have seen my pain, the abuse I had experienced, and still be trustworthy? Our pain can tell us that God doesn’t care. That God doesn’t know and that God doesn’t see us.
Instead, I was challenged to understand and know God through the lens of the cross.
Instead, I was challenged to understand and know God through the lens of the cross. Like Hagar, He sees us, He knows us and He loves us. Everything we have had to endure cannot determine how God feels about us. At the cross, we see the Lord, gracious and compassionate, suffering. Being abused, He had to endure. He went to the cross out of love—because He sees the pain in this world. He came to conquer sin and death. He does not leave us alone in our suffering.
Jackie reminded us that suffering in God’s hands is redemptive and does not have the power to keep us from God as long as Jesus has risen from the dead!
I can be tempted to look at my suffering as a lens to understand God, but Jackie really challenged me instead to look at the cross and see God’s love for the world He came to redeem.
He went to the cross out of love—because He sees the pain in this world. He came to conquer sin and death. He does not leave us alone in our suffering.
5. How did you see God at work during your time at OneLove?
I had a deep sense of God’s care for me. That He sees me and knows me. That He is trustworthy and my continual need to surrender my life to him. I loved that there was opportunity to share what we were being challenged with during the day. I had travelled to Sydney with a group of women from my church. The car trip home was an amazing time of sharing deeply with each other. Hearing how God was working in each of our lives really grew the depth of our relationships with each other. It also gave us opportunities over the next months to check in with each other and continue to pray for each other.
6. What would you say to someone considering coming to OneLove for the first time this year?
Come to OneLove with open hands ready to be challenged and expecting for God to be working in your heart to bring you closer to him and to refine you to be more like Him. Don’t come expecting to leave the same way you arrived.
Don’t come expecting to leave the same way you arrived.
7. How has OneLove impacted your walk with Jesus as you return to everyday life?
After I left OneLove, I didn’t want to go back to my busy life of work, parenting, serving in church and forget the richness and depth I had experienced at OneLove.
Each time I return from OneLove, I spend some time reflecting, re-reading my notes from the talks and I subscribed to the KCC One app so I can continue to reflect on what I learnt.
As we grow in our knowledge of God, we can’t help but grow in our love for Him. OneLove encourages me to lift my eyes, focus my gaze and be strengthened in my love for God. This looks like prioritising spending time with him each morning before I rush into work. Praying and submitting to God in the meetings I’m a part of. Seeing opportunities to speak life and faith into the difficult conversations. Seeking God’s wisdom and asking for discernment in the many decisions I need to make. But it also looks like resting in Him and sitting quietly in prayer and in my Bible.
OneLove encourages me to lift my eyes, focus my gaze and be strengthened in my love for God.
8. In three words, how would you describe your OneLove experience?
Uplifting, refocusing, and strengthening.
Join us at OneLove 2025!
A one-day conference to inspire women through preaching, testimony and fellowship. We’re excited to welcome back Jackie Hill Perry as our keynote speaker!
This year, we’re talking about what it means to live unhindered.
We find ourselves limping. Tired and distracted. But what if God wants us to run—not limp—into life and faith that’s full of joy, endurance, and freedom in Him?

I’m Andrew Legge (leg), or Leggie (leggy) to my friends and a bunch of past and present Hope 103.2 presenters! (I used to be a regular caller/texter!). I’m 46, go to Bobbin Head Anglican Church (a service plant of St. James, Turramurra), enjoy Piña coladas and getting caught in the rain! I’m pretty sure I’ve been to all Basecamps/ Men’s Conventions since 1997!
2. Why did you start attending BASECAMP?
I became a Christian in Year 8 and was blessed with good preaching and great fellowship, both at St. James and while attending other KCC events like KYC (Katoomba Youth Convention), CYC (City Youth Church), Kyckstart (now KYCK) & Easter Convention. When the church found out that the then-named Men’s Convention was starting up early in ’97, we got a bunch of guys together and signed up.
For me, it kicked off what’s coming up to a 30-year journey! The expedition continues, partly for the same reasons it commenced, but also now with a complimentary, outward focus not only to be fed & encouraged by God through the word and others, but to be that to my fellow brothers, too! I’m here for the long haul and pray that I might be able to attend/ feed/ support for at least another 40-50+ years! To say that the late, great Dudley Foord isn’t my personal, effervescent inspiration in this matter would be a lie!
3. Can you share a BASECAMP highlight?
I have so many amazing talks that come to me when I think about KCC. Unfortunately, I can’t pin down in my mind which are from BASECAMP or the other awesome KCC events I’ve attended. So, instead, I’ll generally echo my earlier comments to reinforce that BASECAMP for me encapsulates faithful bible-based teaching, by faithful and encouraging men, in a fun and playful environment wrapped in great fellowship.

4. How has BASECAMP encouraged and challenged your faith?
It has definitely & significantly contributed to the depth of my Christian conviction, the honing of my personal response to the revelation of the truth found only in the gospels, and the refining of my spiritual and brotherly solidarity when we are ever challenged to give up in both big and small ways.
The conduit for all of this is great, bible-based preaching and the encouragement & direction of mature, like-minded Christian brothers, whether on the pulpit or standing beside me!

5. Last year, you wrote in our feedback form that you were ‘instilled with the importance’ of having a 3am mate. Why do you think this is so important for men?
As guys, any of us with a modicum of emotional awareness recognises that we are typically emotionally stunted, especially when compared with our female counterparts and particularly when it comes to going deeper into less comfortable realms. Even the simple task of talking about being vulnerable can be too much for some of us! It’s no wonder that our inner-circles dwindle into middle age, if not before. So how on earth are we to have or be ourselves a 3am mate without deeper friendships? With intentionality. With persistence. With gentleness. Even some of those characteristics are hard to muster, sometimes.
I’m meeting with two guys, now, since BASECAMP 2024. While I’m in the mentor role for both, someone wiser than me spoke to a group of us once and told us that a mentor/mentee relationship isn’t like that of a Jedi Master/Padawan. A single party doesn’t have all the answers, or even arrogantly think they might. It’s simply about two men getting together so that, as Proverbs 27:17 describes it, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”, both men learn (sharpen) and both men grow! Being a 3am mate can come from that mentor/mentee role, either because you’re that for each other, or because that partnership can grow in you a deeper other-person-centeredness which other people might see and call on in their time(s) of need!

6. Why would you recommend BASECAMP to others?
For all the reasons above, and possibly others I’m forgetting. If you’re even slightly interested in growing in your faith, growing in your connectedness with other men and possibly, in maturity, wanting to sow into others in both above ways, there’s no good reason for you not to go! If you disagree, let’s chat at BASECAMP (I’ll be the one wearing the cool, blue stripy beanie-scarf)!
