1. Please introduce yourself and how many times you’ve attended KYCK!
My name is Jayden Jiang and I’m from the REEF youth group from Carlton Methodist Church, Carlton. I’m in year 8 at Blakehurst High School. I’ve attended KYCK 2 times. KYCK 24 and this year KYCK 25.
2. What was a KYCK highlight?
For me the highlight of KYCK 25 was discovering the true meaning of freedom and belonging through Christ. Seeing and hearing the talks really fixed the missing parts of knowing the meaning of freedom and made me dig into the Bible to find out more.
The worship was also amazing. It was like a concert, and you could really feel the presence of God.
3. We heard you recommitted to being a Christian at KYCK! What was that like?
I was living a sinful life and addicted to things that I knew God didn’t want me to be addicted to. Living like this meant that I didn’t have a strong relationship with God. I was encouraged to recommit to God, to start a new life with Him and be part of God’s family and plan.
4. How has your Jesus changed your life?
Jesus changed my life by being there for me for every situation, whether it was sad or happy. In every circumstance, I am assured that He will never fail me and that Jesus provides with so much freedom to worship, learn more about Him and praise Him.

5. How has KYCK encouraged your faith?
KYCK has encouraged me in so many ways: the times for reflection really let me think about why Jesus did this and helped me focus on my own personal understanding. Seeing thousands of people come together to be with God (including my teacher) and learn with Him, especially knowing that at school, faith isn’t something I can express as openly, made this a very rare opportunity for me. The talks and speakers were very informative and interactive, they really showed the importance of God’s love for us.
6. What was your main takeaway from the talks?
My favourite part of the talks was: ‘You don’t have to earn the trust, freedom or belonging. Jesus already has done all for you and is ready to give it to you when you believe and trust Him’.
Also, everyone wants to be approved and paid attention to in some way. Belonging is a rare feeling and not everyone will accept you or want you. But at the end of the day, God loves you, God accepted you in every way even if you sinned or disappointed Him. God cared for you so much He sent down His only one and true Son to die on the cross for our sins and wrongs. You are a child of God!

7. Lastly, what has Jesus set your free from?
Something I’m set free from is gossip. I’m proud to say that I’m cleansed by the Holy Spirit. I now no longer am a slave of sin rather part of God’s wonderful family. Free to praise Him and seek Him even when I’m feeling left out.

Bronte shares how recent trials have helped her faith mature and how she’s learning to let go of self-consciousness and live boldly for Christ even when it means standing out from the crowd.
1. Please introduce yourself and how many times you’ve attended KYCK!
My name is Bronte Galvin, I’m from Nowra Baptist and I’m in Year 10. It’s my fourth year attending KYCK!
2. What was a highlight at KYCK?
Probably the last talk by Danny I loved his use of a metaphor and how encouraging it was. And the music was also soooo great.
Saturday night was great. It was really emotional seeing all the new people come to Christ and turn to Him. I felt really encouraged and it was a fresh reminder of how I’m adopted into His family and can follow Him with others!

3. How has Jesus changed your life?
I was raised all my life in a Christian family but over the past few years, I’ve really grown in my faith and have started to mature through hard trials that God has put in my life. I am constantly reminded of how I need God and need only to have faith in Him and trust Him with all my life.
4. How has KYCK encouraged your faith?
It’s really reminded me of how I’m set free and need only to have faith in Him. KYCK was also so encouraging because thousands of other Christians were around me and we are all praising God together.

I just need to stick to the true gospel in Jesus and have faith in Him.
6. Lastly, what has Jesus set your free from?
Probably self-consciousness and caring too much about what other people think of me.
I’m trying not to be self-conscious even if I’m different to other people in my class and especially not judging others that are different to my friends or myself. It can be rough at times in school when I just want to stick with the crowd and not stand out.

5 Unhindered Women of the Bible
The Bible is filled with women who could have said no. These women could have stayed in their shame, fear, or comfort zones, but instead showed remarkable courage. Here’s a look at 5 women who lived unhindered in their response to Jesus.
1. The Woman at the Well

She came to draw water but left carrying living water.

Ruth wasn’t obligated to follow Naomi into a foreign land, but she did. She wasn’t hindered by loss, uncertainty, or leaving behind the familiar. Her faith and loyalty positioned her in God’s redemptive story!

Hannah (1 Samuel)
Though her heart was heavy with grief and unanswered prayer, she came to the temple and poured out her soul to God. She wasn’t hindered by disappointment, delay, or being misunderstood by others. She was seen and heard by God and her faith bore fruit through her son, Samuel!

She wasn’t invited but she came anyway. In a room full of judgment, she poured perfume and tears at Jesus’ feet. It was an act of costly devotion. She wasn’t hindered by her reputation, onlookers, or the weight of her past. Jesus affirmed her faith and forgave her sin.
Let these stories remind you that you don’t need a perfect past or the right credentials to come to Jesus.

OneLove 2025 is almost here! We’re so excited to gather with over 1,500+ women to sit under God’s Word and fix our eyes on Jesus. Whether this is your first time or your tenth, a little preparation can help you make the most of the day.
Here are five simple ways you can get ready in the lead-up:

5 Tips for Hosting OneLove from Home
You don’t have to be in a big city to experience OneLove. Whether you’re in the bush, by the coast, or a rural town in the middle of nowhere, you can still gather with women in your community and be refreshed by God’s Word. Hosting a OneLove watch party in your home or church is possible and easier than you think!
Here are 5 tips to help you host OneLove from home (or anywhere):
1. Invite the ladies!
Invite your Bible study, church friends, neighbours, or that friend who’s been meaning to come to something. Whether it’s one friend or twenty, sharing the day together can spark deep conversation and shared encouragement.
Let’s be honest, food makes everything better. Set up a grazing board, do it potluck-style, or even order-in lunch for low-effort hosting!
3. Set the tone
Whether it’s your lounge room, church hall, choose a space that’s comfortable and big enough for your group. A big-enough screen and a space for cups of tea and heartfelt chats. Create a space that helps you be present. Have your Bible ready, light a candle, turn off your phone, and bring out the comfiest blankets you own!
4. Pause & reflect throughout the day
Don’t skip the chats! Allow space between sessions for quiet reflection, journaling, or a chat. Here are a few questions you can use to aid your reflection:

“The Saturday That Changed Everything”: Reuben’s KYCK Story
For Reuben, KYCK is where his faith became real. Two years ago, he publicly committed his life to Jesus, deciding to follow Him no matter what. Now, as he prepares for his third KYCK, Reuben reflects on how that moment changed everything—the way he sees himself, his struggles, and the unshakable love of God that continues to sustain him.
1. Introduce yourself!
My name is Reuben Seabrook. I go to Dundas Telopea Anglican (Insight youth) and I’m in Year 9.
2. How many KYCKs have you attended?
I’ve been attending KYCK for 2 years now (this is my 3rd) and I love worshiping the Lord with heaps of other youth and leaders. The talks and sermons are really helpful and overall, the vibes are just amazing.
3. Favourite memory from KYCK?
My favourite memory is probably during KYCK 23, I was in Year 7. I grew up in the church but never understood fully what it meant to follow God. At KYCK, I committed my life to Jesus publicly and wanted to stick with Him no matter what. That Saturday is when it all really started for me.

4. How did KYCK encourage your faith?
It encouraged me in my faith by showing me how real my struggles were for other youth as well. So much of the time I would be ashamed and anxious of what God and others would think of me because of my sin but knowing that others have gone through the same thing and that we’re united through Jesus’ death and resurrection on the cross is a wonderful and comforting truth.
5. Why would you recommend KYCK to others?
I would 100/10 recommend KYCK to any youth that haven’t attended before. It’s a short 3-day experience with your youth group to explore God’s word, understand Jesus more, and have a great time singing and worshiping together. The bracelets and new traditions add a special feel to KYCK that no other event has. Hope to see you guys there!!
6. How has being a Christian changed your life?
My life has been filled with ups and down. I’ve struggled with many different issues like mental health. At some points, I even considered abandoning my faith. It was really hard for me to navigate my faith during such a chaotic period of my life, but Jesus saved me from the depths of suffering I was in and loved me when I couldn’t love myself. The truth of our Saviour never changes. And while life is still a bit bumpy now, I can say I’m secure in God’s love.
Being a Christian has changed my life because it reshapes the way I think of myself, the world and others. Through prayer and the Bible I feel at peace in God and I love telling others about the truth that saved me from death.

‘Strengthened in My Love for God’’: Eleisha’s OneLove Journey
Eleisha is a mum of three teenagers and she’s attended OneLove for the past two years! She calls it the highlight of her year, and shares why it’s important to step away from the busyness of life and refocus on Jesus with sisters in Christ.
1. Please introduce yourself and how many times you’ve attended OneLove!
My name is Eleisha, I attend Horizon Church Canberra. During the day, I look after the operations of a large Christian School—which I love! I’m the mum to three teenage boys, so I spend the rest of my time Uber-driving my children around to their various sports, music and school activities.
I’ve attended OneLove the last two years and it’s a highlight of my year!
2. Are you attending OneLove this year? What are you looking forward to the most?
I’m definitely attending OneLove this year! I love getting together with many of the women from my church, to meet with so many of my sisters in Christ, to draw away from the craziness of normal life, to lift our eyes and set our minds on Jesus together!
3. What was a highlight or moment from OneLove that really stuck with you?
A real highlight for me was hearing the stories of other women and how God has been working in their life. I was particularly encouraged hearing Yunita’s story last year and her journey of loving and caring for her son with a range of additional needs.
She reminded us of God’s sovereignty and his control of our situations. Even when things feel too much, we can trust in the God who cares deeply about us and he will provide—even in ways we might not expect, for His glory. God’s grace is at work in our stories and we can find joy in Him.

4. Was there a particular talk or speaker that encouraged or challenged you? How so?
One of Jackie Hill Perry’s talks (2023) was on Genesis 16:1-15. At one point in her talk, she spoke about Hagar. She described Hagar’s situation, her pain— too much for her to hold, flees to the wilderness.
God seeks out Hagar. God sees Hagar. He names her. He invites her into conversation. It shows how God desires to engage with us, even in suffering.
Our vision of God and who He is can be influenced by our suffering. At the time, I had recently had to leave an abusive relationship with my three boys. After many years of abuse, I was so broken. My pain was a tool that I was using to understand who God was. I was struggling with doubt. I remember really grappling with how a good God could have seen my pain, the abuse I had experienced, and still be trustworthy? Our pain can tell us that God doesn’t care. That God doesn’t know and that God doesn’t see us.
Instead, I was challenged to understand and know God through the lens of the cross.

Everything we have had to endure cannot determine how God feels about us. At the cross, we see the Lord, gracious and compassionate, suffering. Being abused, He had to endure. He went to the cross out of love—because He sees the pain in this world. He came to conquer sin and death. He does not leave us alone in our suffering.
Jackie reminded us that suffering in God’s hands is redemptive and does not have the power to keep us from God as long as Jesus has risen from the dead!
I can be tempted to look at my suffering as a lens to understand God, but Jackie really challenged me instead to look at the cross and see God’s love for the world He came to redeem.
He went to the cross out of love—because He sees the pain in this world. He came to conquer sin and death. He does not leave us alone in our suffering.
5. How did you see God at work during your time at OneLove?
I had a deep sense of God’s care for me. That He sees me and knows me. That He is trustworthy and my continual need to surrender my life to him. I loved that there was opportunity to share what we were being challenged with during the day. I had travelled to Sydney with a group of women from my church. The car trip home was an amazing time of sharing deeply with each other. Hearing how God was working in each of our lives really grew the depth of our relationships with each other. It also gave us opportunities over the next months to check in with each other and continue to pray for each other.
6. What would you say to someone considering coming to OneLove for the first time this year?
Come to OneLove with open hands ready to be challenged and expecting for God to be working in your heart to bring you closer to him and to refine you to be more like Him. Don’t come expecting to leave the same way you arrived.

7. How has OneLove impacted your walk with Jesus as you return to everyday life?
After I left OneLove, I didn’t want to go back to my busy life of work, parenting, serving in church and forget the richness and depth I had experienced at OneLove.
Each time I return from OneLove, I spend some time reflecting, re-reading my notes from the talks and I subscribed to the KCC One app so I can continue to reflect on what I learnt.
As we grow in our knowledge of God, we can’t help but grow in our love for Him. OneLove encourages me to lift my eyes, focus my gaze and be strengthened in my love for God. This looks like prioritising spending time with him each morning before I rush into work. Praying and submitting to God in the meetings I’m a part of. Seeing opportunities to speak life and faith into the difficult conversations. Seeking God’s wisdom and asking for discernment in the many decisions I need to make. But it also looks like resting in Him and sitting quietly in prayer and in my Bible.
OneLove encourages me to lift my eyes, focus my gaze and be strengthened in my love for God.

From Curiosity to Christ: Belle’s KYCK Story
Belle attended KYCK for the first time this year and it changed everything. Though she grew up in a non-Christian home and hadn’t thought much about faith since Primary School, a conversation with her best friend sparked a curiosity about God that she couldn’t ignore. At KYCK, Belle encountered the gospel in a powerful and personal way. On Saturday night, surrounded by her youth group and hundreds of other teenagers, Belle made the life-changing decision to follow Jesus!
1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself—where you’re from and how you came to KYCK?
Hi, my name is Belle and I’m from Bathurst. I had known about KYCK for a while, but this was my first year attending. My best friend has been attending KYCK for a few years now and she’s the one who encouraged me to go.
2. What was your church or faith background before KYCK?
I grew up in a non-Christian household. I knew of religion and did Scripture in Primary School but when I was in Year 5, my parents decided to take us out of Scripture. Up until that point, I was very interested in religion but going into High School, it wasn’t something I really thought about. Last year, I was talking to my best friends and one of them told me about how God can help me. She never forced anything on me but that was a starting point in my relationship with God.
3. Was there a moment or talk at KYCK 25 that really stood out to you?
The talk that really stood out to me was the one Danny gave about freedom in Christ, he spoke about how Jesus has set us free so we shouldn’t dwell on our sins because Jesus has already paid for them. KYCK is such a great experience and I think everyone deserves to experience it.
4. We heard you became a Christian this year at KYCK! How did you feel when you decided to follow Jesus on Saturday night?
Saturday night was the best night of my life. Before we went into the night session, everyone was talking about Saturday night, and I eventually found out what would happen, but I still didn’t fully understand. Then Danny asked those who wanted to stand up and go outside, and I went out with a few friends from my youth group. The whole experience was amazing. I felt so close to Jesus and my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Saturday night was the best night of my life.
5. How has your life looked different since coming home from KYCK?
I have been reading my Bible more and understanding more how it applies to my life.
6. As the theme at KYCK was freedom, what is something that Jesus has set you free from?
Jesus has set me free from worrying about judgement from others. Jesus loves me and that’s all that matters.

Belle attended KYCK for the first time this year and it changed everything.
